SAN JOSE, Costa Rica – Costa Rica head coach Amelia Valverde announced Wednesday a 26-player roster for a women’s international friendly against visiting Mexico on November 25 at the Estadio Ricardo Saprissa Ayma.

With the Central American Games set to take place next month and CONCACAF championships at the under-17 and under-20 levels slated for 2018, Valverde’s squad is a mixture of experience and youth.

"We took the base of the senior team that has been working through friendlies since 2016,” said the 30-year-old.  “This, coupled with the youth teams’ competitions, we wanted to keep all the girls working, so that they continue to grow.”

The squad features 10 players from two-time defending Central American champion Moravia, including midfielders Cristin Granados and Yerli Rojas, each of whom scored in the 2-0 win over Nicaragua’s UNAN Managua in this year’s final.

Midfielder Raquel Rodriguez Cedeño, who scored one goal in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, will have the opportunity to play in a home international for the first time since 2013.
