    Costa Rica women narrowly top Panama in friendly

    DAVID, Panama – Costa Rica opened its two-match series against host Panama with a 1-0 win on Wednesday at the Estadio San Cristobal.

    A 25th minute strike by Carol Sanchez proved to the difference in a game that both teams used as preparation for Central American World Cup Qualifying, which starts later this month in Guatemala.

    The neighbors will meet once again on Friday at the same venue.
