    Costa Rica unveils new Central American Cup roster

    SAN JOSE, Costa Rica – Costa Rica announced Monday a list of 25 players for the Central American Cup Tigo 2014 USA (Copa Centroamericana).

    Interim head coach Paulo Cesar Wanchope must trim the roster to 23 by September 1, 48 hours ahead of the opening series of matches.  The Ticos will commence defense of their title on September 3 against Nicaragua at Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium in Washington, D.C.

    The selection is highlighted by nine players who were with Costa Rica during their run to 2014 FIFA World Cup quarterfinals, including Arsenal’s Joel Campbell and Marcos Ureña, each of whom scored a goal in Brazil.
