    Costa Rica, Panama advance to 2004 CONCACAF U-19 Final Round

    Costa Rica and the host, Panama advanced into the 2004 CONCACAF Under-19 Women's Final Round Qualification, after defeating Nicaragua and El Salvador, respectively, at the Unión Centroamericana de Fútbol (UNCAF) Preliminary Quadrangular at the Estadio Rommel Fernández in Ciudad de Panamá on Friday.

    With a match date remaining in the event, Costa Rica (2-0-0, 6 Points) and Panama (2-0-0, 6 Points) clinched the two berths in the Central Zone qualification and will join three CFU (Caribbean Football Union) and the three North Zone Representatives (Canada, Mexico, USA) in the CONCACAF Final Round Qualification that will run from 28 May - 6 June in Montreal and Ottawa, Canada, to determine which two Confederation teams will qualify to the 2004 FIFA U-19 World Championships in Thailand.

    Shirley Cruz and Karla Villalobos scored four times, while Carolina Guardia and Amara Wilson added two goals each for Costa Rica in the 13:0 victory over Nicaragua (0-2-0, 0 Points) on Friday at the Estadio Rommel Fernández.

    In the second encounter of the evening, Amarelis Demera had two goals and Karina Barahona and Sumara Ortega each added another in Panama's 4:0 win over El Salvador (0-2-0, 0 Points).

    The UNCAF tournament conclude on Sunday (28 March) with Nicaragua taking on El Salvador at 15:00 and then Panama meeting Costa Rica at 17:00.
