    CONCACAF Weekend Watch (Nov. 24-26, 2017)

    CONCACAF.com provides an offering of storylines for you to follow during domestic league action this weekend:


    Toronto FC is idle this weekend, but returns to 2017 MLS Cup playoff action on Wednesday, when it hosts Columbus Crew SC in the second leg of the Eastern Conference final.  The series opener on November 21 ended in a 0-0 draw.


    The 2017 Invierno Quadrangular opens Sunday with No. 1 Herediano (16W-6D-0L, 54 points) visiting No. 4 Perez Zeledon (10-6-6, 36) and No. 2 Saprissa (13-4-5, 43) hosting No. 3 Santos de Guapiles (11-7-4, 40).


    On Saturday, first-place Alianza (13-7-0, 46) will look to complete the 2017 Apertura regular season unbeaten as fifth-place Aguila (6-9-6, 27) visits the Estadio Cuscatlan.  In the previous meeting between the sides this season, Alianza earned a 3-1 win on the road thanks to a pair of goals from Marvin Monterrosa on September 24.


    There are no games in the 2017 Apertura this weekend, with the postseason play scheduled to kick-off on November 28.  Playoffs for the pair of available semifinal places will be contested between No. 3 Olimpia (9-4-5, 31) and No. 6 UPNFM (7-3-8, 24), as well as No. 4 Real España (9-2-7, 29) and No. 5 Juticalpa (8-4-6, 28).  No. 1 Marathon (11-1-6, 34) and No. 2 Motagua (9-6-3, 33) have already sealed final-four berths.


    Series openers in the 2017 Liga MX Apertura quarterfinals were tightly contested, with each of the four matches being decided by one goal or fewer.  Second-leg encounters will be disputed this weekend.

    Saturday: 2 Tigres v 7 Leon (agg: 1-1); 4 Morelia v 5 Toluca (agg: 1-2)

    Sunday: 1 Monterrey v 8 Atlas (agg: 2-1); 3 Club America v 6 Cruz Azul (agg: 0-0).


    Managua will host Walter Ferretti on Saturday in the first leg of the 2017 Apertura final.


    Semifinal play in the 2017 Apertura concludes Saturday as Plaza Amador hosts Arabe Unido (agg: 1-0) and Tauro FC welcomes Chorrillo FC (agg: 0-0).


    Table-topping North East Stars (11-4-1, 37) can clinch their first TT Pro League title since 2004 with a win over seventh-place Police FC (4-5-7, 17) on Friday at Ato Boldon Stadium


    The 2017 MLS Cup playoffs resumes next week with Conference final, second-leg matches.  Columbus Crew will visit top-seeded Toronto FC on November 29 (agg: 0-0) in the East and Seattle Sounders FC will welcome the Houston Dynamo (agg: 2-0) in the West.
