CONCACAF teams defeat Spanish futsal clubs

Costa Rica and Mexico each defeated host Spanish sides Carnicer Torrejón FS and Navagalamella FS, respectively, on Monday, during their final preparations for the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup.

After trailing 2-0 early, defending CONCACAF champion Costa Rica got two goals from Luis Alejandro Paniagua and one each by Erick Brenes and Diego Andres Zuñiga for a 5-3 come-from-behind win against second-division side Carnicer Torrejón at the Torrejón de Ardoz's Pabellón Municipal Jorge Garbajosa.

The Ticos will meet Spain -- two-time Futsal World Cup winners -- on Wednesday in a friendly at Madrid's Pabellón Municipal de Arganda del Rey. In their only previous meeting, the visiting Spanish came out on top, 7-0, in a friendly in San José prior to the start of the 2000 FIFA Futsal World Cup.
