MIAMI - Two referees and four assistant referees have been assigned to officiate at next month’s Algarve Cup, an invitational tournament for women’s national teams that takes place annually in Portugal
The referees selected are Melissa Borjas (Honduras) and Sheena Dickson (Canada). Borjas oversaw the final of 2014 CONCACAF Women’s Championship between winners United States and Mexico on January 19.
The assistant referees making the trip to Europe are Elizabeth Molina (El Salvador), Wendy Fisher (Cayman Islands), Milagros Leonardo (Dominican Republic) and Felishia Mariscal (United States)
On the playing field, CONCACAF will be represented in the competition -- which will be played March 5-12 -- by the defending champion United States.
