    CFCC: Borussia impresses in debut

    GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala – Costa Rica’s made history on Wednesday at the Domo Polideportivo, defeating Sidekicks of Mexico 5-0 in the first-ever CONCACAF Futsal Club Championship match. 

    The Costa Rican champion got goals from five different players.

    Scoring Summary:
    1-0  Diego Zúñiga, Borussia (11:04)
    2-0  Johan Castro, Borussia (12:08)
    3-0  Minor Calbaceta, Borussia (15:43)
    4-0  Marco Lopez, Borussia (25:38)
    5-0  Edwin Cubilla, Borussia (34:24)

    With the Group B win, the Lions extended their unbeaten streak to 54 consecutive games in all competitions.

    "It was a working triumph,” team captain Edwin Cubilla told CONCACAF.com.  “At first we struggled, but we gradually gained confidence. It is always important to start with a win,  We have team to reach the final.”

    While Borussia will enjoy an off day, Sidekicks will return to action on Thursday against Canada’s Futsal Club Toronto.
