Caribbean Qualifying Group D kicks off

Group D of Caribbean qualification for the CONCACAF Women's U20 has begun with games in Dominican Republic on 21 September.

The first game in the four-team group saw a British Virgin Islands team take-on Haiti. With the British Virgin Islanders unable to field a full team for the entire game from their under-strength squad, the Haitians managed to score 11 goals in the first 39 minutes of play. The game was abandoned when the BVI were no longer able to field at least seven players.

In the day's second game, the Dominican Republic defeated the US Virgin Islands by an 8:0 score line. A strike by Eleniza Pichardo (55), one more from Quiterio (59) and two from Yolanda Valerio (61, 71) made the score 7:0 before Quiterio added her third, the teams eighth, in time added-on at the end of the second half making the final score 8:0.
