    Bernier, Davies highlight Canada roster for Curacao friendly

    OTTAWA -- Canada head coach Octavio Zambrano announced Friday a 23-player roster for an international friendly against visiting Curacao on June 13 at the Stade Saputo in Montreal.

    Impact de Montreal midfielder Patrice Bernier is the most experienced player in the squad with 53 caps, while 16-year-old Alphonso Davies will be looking to make his debut after becoming a Canadian citizen earlier in the week.

    “You can start to see what the young guys can bring to the national team, but you can also see why the experienced players are still part of the team,” said Zambrano.  “It is a good combination and a well-balanced team.”

    Juan Cordova, Raheem Edwards, Andres Fresenga, Mark-Anthony Kaye and Tyler Pasher are each in line to earn their first cap.
